Hosta ‘Francee’

The distinctive foliage of Hosta ‘Francee’ is instantly recognisable. The hardy perennial’s green, ribbed leaves are edged with a contrasting cream colour. This variety of Plantain Lily therefore adds a splash of colour when it forms clumps in shady borders or patio containers. Its flowers are equally impressive. They appear on tall, attractive spikes which stand to attention above the foliage in July and August. This desirable combination has been noted by the Royal Horticultural Society, who have awarded Hosta ‘Francee’ an AGM (Award of Garden Merit) for its attractiveness and its resistance to bad weather. Height: 55cm (1’10); Spread: 100cm (3’3).
