Tulip ‘White Dream’

Gage ‘Reine Claude d´Oullins’

A good dual purpose variety with a true Gage flavour for cooking or eating fresh. Ideal for baking in pies when picked early, or allow them to ripen during August when they will become sweet and juicy ? perfect for eating straight from the tree.

Apple ‘Winter Gem’

This late season variety consistently produces top quality eating apples, with a richly aromatic and complex flavour. The pale, yellow-green fruits are flushed red with crisp, juicy flesh. Being one of the last eating apples to ripen in late October, it makes a valuable and worthwhile addition to orchards.

Apple ‘Ellison’s Orange’

A wonderful dessert apple with lovely orange-red flushed skins and exquisitely juicy flesh. Apple ‘Ellison’s Orange’ has a distinctive aniseed undertone, giving it a complex flavour and delicious aroma.

Pear ‘Benita’

This is an intriguing cross between a European and an Asian Pear, resulting in traditional, sweet flavoured fruits with the crispness of an Asian Pear. Gage ‘Reine Claude de Bavay’ is the variety most widely found in supermarkets. The fruits turn to yellow-green when fully ripe in early September. They have a typical Gage flavour which is at its best when fruits are left to ripen on the tree.

Apple ‘Spartan’

A juicy, refreshingly sweet apple that is instantly recognisable by its deep maroon colour. Apple ‘Spartan’ is also an excellent pollinator for other apple trees and so is extremely useful in any collection.

Apple ‘Reverend W. Wilks’

A well known cooking variety producing colossal green fruits with a sharp flavour and crisp, white flesh. Apple ‘Reverend W. Wilks’ cooks down to a soft, sweet puree, not quite as sharp as the well known variety ?Bramley?. This is also an excellent choice for baking whole.

Apple ‘Greensleeves’

From ?Golden Delicious? parentage with the same characteristic yellow-green skin and crisp, juicy flesh. The flavour is slightly sharper than its well known parent but makes a good alternative for growing in the cooler UK climate. Apple ?Greensleeves? is an excellent eating apple and makes good juices and cider.

Peach ‘Peregrine’

Still regarded as one of the best English varieties since its introduction in 1906! In March, pink blossoms provide an eye-catching display, followed by red flushed, white skinned fruits from early August. This delicious, white fleshed peach has a rich, sweet flavour.

Pear ‘Christie’

Pear ‘Christie’ is well known variety to Scottish fruit growers. The fruits are large with green skins that blush red as they ripen. The flavour is deliciously sweet and mellow making it excellent for eating fresh.

Apple ‘Sunset’

With many similarities to Cox, Apple ?Sunset? makes an excellent alternative for garden production. The flavour is sharp and intense, while the skins share the same characteristic red-stripes and orange flush that is so typical of English dessert apples. However this variety is much easier to grow and produces far better yields.
