Apple ‘Herefordshire Russet’

Relatively small eating apples with a distinctive russet skin and an aromatic Cox-like flavour ? somewhat unusual for an apple of this type! Apple ?Herefordshire Russet? is a modern dessert variety producing good yields of fruit from well shaped trees that have a fairly vigorous habit.

Apple ‘Sunset’

With many similarities to Cox, Apple ?Sunset? makes an excellent alternative for garden production. The flavour is sharp and intense, while the skins share the same characteristic red-stripes and orange flush that is so typical of English dessert apples. However this variety is much easier to grow and produces far better yields.

Corylus maxima ‘Kentish Cob’

Hazelnut ‘Kentish Cob’ is probably the best-known UK variety and easiest to grow in the garden. This attractive, bushy tree produces a mass of yellow-green catkins in the early spring followed a heavy crop of cobnuts in from September.

Cherry ‘Kordia’

A recent introduction, Cherry ?Kordia? is a superb eating variety that is notable for its particularly large fruits. Dark-purple cherries with a mouth-watering sweetness are produced in abundance for harvesting in early August. The fruits tend to resist splitting, even in wet summers, ensuring that you have a top quality crop.

Apple ‘Cox Self Fertile’

Apple ?Cox Self Fertile’ produces juicy, crisp dessert fruits that are similar to ?Cox?s Orange Pippin?, but without the need for a pollination partner. This self fertile variety is rapidly gaining popularity for its late crop of aromatic eating apples that can be harvested from late September into October.

Crab Apple ‘Nuvar Marble’

Crab Apple ‘Nuvar Marble? is a modern, British-bred variety that looks magnificent in autumn. The large, orange fruits are blushed red with glossy skins that glow in the autumn sunshine. This variety ripens early, giving you plenty of opportunity to make delicious Crab Apple jelly.

Muscari armeniacum

Lavender ‘Antibes’
