Rose ‘Marieken’ (Shrub Rose)

Rose ‘Marieken’ is a hardy, red-stemmed shrub rose with healthy, deep green, glossy leaves. The unscented blooms are a fabulous brick-red colour, blooming continuously from June through to October. This neat, bushy rose makes an ideal container variety, or adds a bright splash of summer colour to rose beds and mixed borders.

Citrus trifoliata

A hardy, deciduous, shrub, or small tree, whose stout branches are heavily armed with very sharp spines. From April to June, the intoxicating scent of the white, cup-shaped flowers is remeniscent of Orange blossom. Occasionally a second flush of blooms are produced during autumn.

Parrotia persica

Closely related to the Witch Hazel (Hamamelis), Persian Ironwood starts flowering in late winter, producing clusters of small spider-like, crimson flowers. These are followed by glossy, rich green leaves, which in the autumn transform to stunning, vibrant shades of yellow, orange, red and purple.

Pinus x schwerinii ‘Wiethorst’

An extraordinarily beautiful dwarf conifer which is one of the few existing cultivars of Pinus x scherwinii. This small tree is pyramid shaped with a dense covering of long, light-green needles showing silvery undersides.

Pinus mugo ‘Varella’

Pinus mugo ‘Varella’ has an unusual but pleasing appearance for a Pine. The glossy green, very slender needles consist of 2 different lengths. The previous years growth shows the longest needles, while the current growth appears in clusters at the tips, waiting almost until the following spring before extending in length.

Prunus ‘Amanogawa’

Also known as the Flagpole Cherry Tree, this architectural ornamental cherry has an upright, columnar habit making it ideal for small gardens! Clusters of slightly fragrant, soft pink-white blossoms simply smother the branches in late spring and are highly attractive to bees.

Prunus ‘Accolade’

Prunus ?Accolade? is a deciduous, spreading tree that flowers abundantly, and slightly earlier than most cultivars. Semi-double, pale pink blooms smother the bare branches of this ornamental Cherry from early April.

Prunus cerasifera ‘Nigra’

For many years Prunus cerasifera ‘Nigra’ has been a popular variety for planting in urban towns and cities due to its tolerance to pollution. It makes a particularly colourful specimen tree that creates a showy centrepiece for a large garden. This is is one of the first Cherries to flower in the spring.

Pinus nigra ‘Pierrick Bregéon’

Pinus nigra ‘Pierrick Brégeon’ was bred from a controlled cross of Pinus nigra and Pinus densiflora, resulting in a more flattened-spherical shaped, dense, compact shrub with long, soft, rich green needles. This resilient dwarf Pine would be an excellent choice for the rockery, or as a container plant for even the smallest garden.

Prunus ‘Snow Fountains’

Prunus ‘Snow Fountains’ is well named for its weeping branches that are a sight to behold when in flower. The cascading branches of this weeping Cherry extend from the top of the crown and dangle to the ground. In April and May the branches are smothered with lightly fragranced, pure white flowers.

Schizophragma hydrangeoides ‘Rose Sensation’

Schizophragma hydrangeoides ‘Rose Sensation’ is a stunning variety with elegant pink, lace cap flowers which are borne in flat topped clusters during June and July. The ovate, toothed leaves are dark green creating a dense covering upon the sturdy, woody stems.

Pinus strobus ‘Minima’

Pinus strobus ‘Minima’ forms a slow growing, compact, almost spherical, evergreen hummock. The blue-green needles have a silvery sheen, borne in bundles of five making them soft to the touch. A spectacular, ‘must have’ addition to the rock garden, containers or borders.

Nandina domestica ‘Flirt’

Nandina domestica ‘Flirt’ is a recent introduction for gardeners, with superior summer colour to its predecessors, and a low spreading habit. New foliage emerges a deep wine colour in spring and turns redder during the summer months. Toward autumn the evergreen leaves mature to deep purple-green.

Rose ‘Happy Go Lucky’ (Floribunda Rose)

Rose ‘Happy Go Lucky!’ flowers continuously from early summer through to late autumn. This upright, bushy floribunda rose produces clusters of semi-double, lightly scented, mauve-pink flowers with charming rippled edges. The thorny stems are covered in glossy, dark green leaves, forming a compact plant.

Clematis montana var. rubens ‘Tetrarose’

A very quick growing, vigorous, handsome deciduous climber. Bronze tinted , toothed foliage and pink flowers with a central boss of yellow anthers 9cm ( 3 ½ ??)across. The flowers have a wonderful almond scent during late spring and early summer.

Miscanthus x giganteus

Miscanthus x giganteus is a vigorous grower, towering up to 3.5m (12′) with ease, which makes it ideal as an inpenetrable screen or windbreak. During September and October this deciduous perennial grass produces sprays of arching, grey-pink flowers from the top of the plant.

Magnolia laevifolia ‘Gail’s Favourite’
