Chives

Chives are a perennial member of the onion family. They are easy to grow, and as well as looking pretty in summer with pink flowers, they are a tasty herb that has edible leaves and flowers that can garnish potato salad, soups etc. They are an excellent companion plant for organic vegetable gardens and allotments, deterring pests such as carrot root fly. Height: 40cm (16). Spread: 30cm (12).
