Lonicera kamtschatica ‘Eisbar’
The supersize fruits on this Honeyberry grow up to 4cm long, making them among the giants of all Honeyberries. Despite its large fruits, Lonicera kamtschatica ‘Eisbär’ is a compact shrub, perfect for growing in the border or as a group in the kitchen garden. The berries can be eaten freshly picked straight from the bush, baked in pies or cakes or made into jam. What’s more, the Honeyberry has creamy yellow, fragrant flowers in early spring and is very easy to grow. Honeyberry plants are self fertile but planting two or more together will improve pollination and increase your crop of tasty fruits. Height: 1.5m (5′). Spread: 1.2m (4′). Caution: It should be noted that not all berries of the Lonicera family are edible.
